Southside Business Technology Center announces Internship Opportunities
The Southside Business Technology Center (SBTC) in partnership with Virginia Tech has successfully delivered its first five projects.
The SBTC offers management consulting services to local and regional companies and entrepreneurs for non-profit fees. The center also offers internship opportunities to students from local and regional colleges and universities who are exposed to real business problems and learn to enhance their strategic thinking.
Since SBTC’s opening in May 2005, the organization has already delivered valuable Business Plans, Market Research and Analysis, and Financial Forecasting reports to Martinsville companies. Amongst SBTC’s first clients were HerDesign, Inc. – a unique dynamic web-design company, All Trust, NM – a freight brokerage company; J.G. Edelen Co., Inc. – a hardware manufacturer, and Ashbrook Audiology & Hearing Aid Center.
As the SBTC prepares to begin research on several new client projects, it is looking to recruit new interns from area colleges and universities. SBTC has worked with interns from Averett University, Virginia Tech, Ferrum College, and University of North Carolina – Greensboro. SBTC welcomes all applicants from area schools to apply.
The requirements to apply are:
ª 3.0 Grade Point Average
ª Business or related field major
ª Senior Undergrad or MBA
ª Three Academic references must be available
ª Up-dated resume
