Exciting BLC Announcement from xElle Ventures

Today, we're excited to announce that xElle Ventures will be providing a $5,000 cash award to a female led company pitching at the Big Launch Challenge. 

xElle Ventures is a collective made up entirely of women. Our mission is to discover and fund the most promising women business leaders and mentor them as they create successful companies while building a thriving female founder-investor ecosystem. The strength of xElle Ventures lies in our Members. We are seasoned executives and experienced entrepreneurs. In addition to making loans to female-led or female-founded companies using targeted debt instruments, xElle leverages the vast experience of our collective Members to provide counsel to portfolio companies. Each Member is dedicated to the notion that we must build a growing and educated community of female investors to place more wealth into the hands of women on both sides of the table.

We are thrilled to be joining forces with xElle and bring this additional cash award to one of the Big Launch Challenge pitching companies.

 

About the ACA Angel University at The Big Launch Challenge

This will be a full day of action-packed investor and entrepreneur focused agenda. The Big Launch Challenge is a competition targeting the best startups in the country and the combination of the two events offers a unique, immersive experience.

The 10th annual Big Launch Challenge is a unique opportunity to see 10 leading startups as they compete for $15,000 in prize money. Over the past 9 years of hosting this competition, The Launch Place has awarded $174,000 to 16 companies. The Launch Place strives to foster an environment for new and serial entrepreneurs in which they can raise capital and have access to support services they need to take their products and/or solutions into the marketplace.

We're offering two courses valuable to both angel investors and entrepreneurs—Valuations and Term Sheet Basics. This is a unique experience where these two courses are being taught with angels and entrepreneurs learning together.

Courses offered at AU at The Big Launch Challenge:

  • Term Sheet Basics: As a new angel, you’ll need to understand the term sheet, the document that outlines the terms and conditions of the agreement between the investors and the startup.
  • Valuation: Negotiating the current valuation of seed-stage startups at the time of investment is a critical component of angel term sheets. Getting valuation right establishes a fair percentage of ownership for both investors and entrepreneurs and optimizes returns for investing angels.
