The Launch Place has added another young company to their diverse portfolio. Raleigh medtech company VitalFlo will receive a $75,000 pre-seed investment from The Launch Place to help them develop their lung health analytics platform and patent-pending mobile spirometer.
Twenty competitors took the stage to pitch their business to a panel of judges for a chance to win cash prize money to turn their idea into a reality. This year The Launch Place received 122 applications from various competitors who were vying for one of the top 20 spots.
The Launch Place Helps Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company Panacea Biomatx Expand to the Dan River Region
Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Panacea Biomatx, a manufacturer of personalized medicine and nutrition solutions, will invest $5.8 million to establish a research and development and high-tech manufacturing facility in the Cane Creek Centre Industrial Park in Pittsylvania County. The project will create 70 new jobs.
A new company will be joining the diverse portfolio of The Launch Place in February. Chapel Hill-based mesur.io, an internet of things (IoT) company that focuses on providing ag-based businesses with automated data tracking and analytics, received a $200,000 seed investment. This partnership makes mesur.io The Launch Place’s thirteenth venture since 2014.
