Mentoring and Training
Sharing our knowledge, experience, and network of professional contacts
The Launch Place offers free mentoring services and training activities with our highly skilled international staff and with assistance from one of our many partners. We do our best to help you cultivate relationships that can further your professional and business development.
Our mentoring services are designed to help you learn from professionals who have already spent years learning how to succeed. We can help you with these few important steps:
- Decide exactly what you need before you start thinking of the ideal person to be a mentor. For example, a successful CFO may not be the right mentor for you if you need to create and execute strategic marketing plan.
- Know what makes a good mentor. The best mentors are busy people, but they are interested in helping you learn and grow your business quickly.
- Know the differences between a mentor, friend, and coach. A good mentor will tell you what you need to hear, not like a friend, who may tell you what you want to hear. A coach will help you with skills, while a mentor should help you through different situations.
In partnership with Danville’s Office of Economic Development, the Danville Downtown Association and the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce, we host our Entrepreneur Network Series at our offices located on 527 Bridge Street, Suite 200, in Danville. Topics presented by professionals in the field are highly informative and vary in the areas of finance, investments, law, accounting, marketing, sales and human resources to name a few. On average about 15 people attend, making it conducive to business networking.
